The OpenConstellation is a mutualised satellite infrastructure, created to enable organisations to share the data generated by satellites for improved access to information on our planet. Using this shared capacity reduces overall costs and increases access to better quality, more frequent data.
With more satellites in orbit, more areas can be covered more frequently, giving partners of the OpenConstellation a greater global coverage.
Benefits of joining the OpenConstellation
Reduction in overall cost
By sharing space assets, we are dramatically lowering cost and simplifying access to Earth Observation data
Diversity of data
Satellites in the constellation can provide diverse types of data with a mixture of spectral resolutions (multi, hyper, IR, radiometry etc...) and a range of spatial resolutions including MR, HR and VHR.
More frequent data
Each member receives three times the amount of data over their region, resulting in shorter revisit times and a greater total coverage
Priority tasking
Each contributing member has free data and priority tasking rights for their satellites over their regions of interest
Full mission management
Open Cosmos manages the entire mission, from concept design through to manufacture, test, launch, operation and data insights
DataCosmos
Access to the imagery plus a multitude of third party data and development tools through the DataCosmos software platform
