International Women’s Day #BreakTheBias

“I will act as a role model to women who want to progress their careers into leadership and offer support and coaching to enable them in achieving their full potential, whatever that may be” – Claire Cullen, VP People, Open Cosmos
At OC we name the test kits used on a daily basis by the team after women that have contributed to science or technology. Every day, our engineers work with Valentina in honour of Valentina Tereshkova, 1st woman to orbit the Earth, or with Margaret in honour or Margaret Hamilton who was an Apollo flight software architect.
Every time a new kit is brought online, a voting competition is run so people can propose name with a description of the contribution that woman has done. This raises further awareness to the great contribution woman have done to science and technology – Jordi Barrera Ars, VP, Technology

Maria Sevilla is one our Assembly, Integration and Test engineers @Open_Cosmos. She literally builds and tests our most advanced satellites. I see way too often unconscious biases towards women working in engineering positions. Let's #BreakTheBias and celebrate #WomensDay2022

Rafel Jordá Siquier, CEO and Founder, Open Cosmos

"I will see all parents as being allowed to both struggle and excel with parenting regardless of gender."

Lewis Hibell, Flight Software Technical Lead, Open Cosmos

It doesn’t matter how old you are, how far you are in your career, you still get inspired by successful women pushing boundaries, sharing ideas and breaking the bias everyday.
