As head of software, Mark oversees the design, development, and deployment of the software used at every stage of the mission, from mission design to operations. Part of the original Open Cosmos team, Mark designed the operating system for Open Cosmos’ first cubesat, and wrote 70% of the software.

With a background in physics and mathematics, Mark’s interest in software led him to work on projects involving robotics and control, tomography, nuclear technology, as well as government IT. He also developed the radio codecs, networking software, and some electronics for several SDR-based ground stations.
